The fourth CUAM Nanjing Mountain Marathon was successfully held on a sunny spring day, March 26. 830 runners from 18 countries and regions participated in this year’s race. 214 of them have participated in the race more than once,among whom 154 ran the race for the second time, 50 the third time and 10 the fourth time.

Lou Yan,the Vice General Manager of CUAM,and the couple,Joanna and Hamdi,shot the starting pistol together this year. In 2014 when the first CUAM Nanjing Mountain Marathon was held, Hamdi from France proposed marriage to Shanghainese girl Joanna at the finish line of the marathon. This is the third time for them to run the race. They also shot the starting pistol for 42km and 25km groups.

The race has three groups, 42km, 25km and 12km family group. The first place in 42km male group went to Qiang Wang, official time 3 : 06 : 17. In the 42km female group, the first place went to Xue Chen, official time 4 : 11 : 36. Guangyu Yao won the first place in the 25km male group with official time 1 : 42 : 44 and Yingying Wang won the first place inthe 25km female group with official time 2 : 32 : 15.

12km family group is set in the race to promote running culture among teenagers. In this year’s race there were 35 family groups participating. The teenager runner Maxim Rudakov won the first place in the male group with official time 1 : 06 : 46 and DUPRE LEA won in the female group with official time 1 : 34 : 52.

The race can’t have been successfully held without the participation and dedication of every volunteer. We especially would like to express our gratitude to Nanjing Forestry University and Nanjing Running Group for their support to the volunteer work of the race year after year.
